As a little kid, I always loved to draw and paint animals. I did the school route
for several years. I loved the drawing and painting classes. Back in the 80’s
I started playing with pastels.
My love for pastels continued. I like the quickness of the medium. I like the fact that
you don’t have to wait for the “paint” to dry. Pastels are pure pigment, that if
applied onto Canson acid free paper, they can last way past ones lifetime!
My work is between impressionism and realism, which lends itself quite well to pastels.
In 2010 I decided to do a fundraiser for NorCalAidsCycle. I decided to create commission cat and dog portraits. As it turned out things went great.
This was a turning point for me. My passion for creating a living creature on board or pastel paper just got magnified to a new level! Lindblad Studios was born! Checkout my website at: www.sandylindblad.com
